MELBOURNE COMEDY FESTIVAL DROPS NAME OF DAME EDNA CREATOR BARRY HUMPHRIES FOLLOWING TRANSGENDER ROW Australia's most prestigious comedy festival has renamed its top prize after the creator of Dame Edna Everage was accused of transphobia. The Melbourne International Film festival said it was changing the name of the Barry Award, which has been named in honour of comedian Barry Humphries since 2007.
