Joy Carter joins the BBC World Service Radio programme - Outside Source on 30th August 2018 to discuss an amazing adoption viral video of a little girl being told after 3 years of fostering she will be adopted. Tear jerking but brilliant moment. Stand-up comedian Joy Carter joins the BBC discussion and shares her own overseas transracial adoption story from Nigeria to the UK. Currently in the UK we are still many foster care families short, and the current local authority cuts are adversely affecting the level of foster care for many young people. Without a stable family and home situation, the ability to focus on education, self development and a future become difficult for many young people. Much more has to be done, or we are in danger of neglecting a quarter of the future of this country.
